The collection consists of two pamphlets: Some notes on John Steinbeck, by Stanley Edgar Hyman, an offprint from the Summer 1942 issue of The Antioch Review, p. [185]-200, discusses Steinbeck's early novels, and is inscribed by Steinbeck for Walter; also, pamphlet entitled Vanderbilt Clinic by Steinbeck, the third of a series of reports for the hospital, March 1947, with text and photos showing various aspects of the clinic.
